25th April 2025 at 7.30pm Valley Community Theatre Childwall Valley Road Netherley, Liverpool, Merseyside L27 3YA. £15 plus booking fee book tickets www.likemindedproductions.co.uk/store/backend/hillsborough-one-boy Hillsborough One Boy's Story of a Tragedy — Likeminded Productions After the overwhelming success and feedback about our play Hillsborough One Boy's Story of a Tragedy which was performed for two nights in April 2024, to remember the 35th anniversary of the Hillsborough Disaster. The demand has been so positive that we will be performing it again. Thank you all for supporting us and Shaun Millea with his campaign to have the Hillsborough Disaster taught on the National Curriculum. The show follows the life of young Frankie, who lives with his Mum, Dad, and sister Mary in their Liverpudlian family home. The family is often visited by Grandad who tells exaggerated tall tales of his past. Also, we have Uncle Terry and Aunty Lil who seem to visit at the worst possible moment and whip the kids up into a frenzy of excitement, before swiftly leaving Mum and Dad to pick up the pieces. It also highlights the family bond between parent and child, with a typical Dad who makes silly jokes and a quick-witted Mum who quips back, all while the young kids childishly make fun of each other. Dad, goes to the match, on that fatefully day at Hillsborough, but doesn't come home, and family life is ripped apart so tragically, leaving a grieving Mum, to explain to the young children that their Dad Won't Be Home. |

Dear School Colleagues, The Real Truth Legacy Project Survivors and the families of the 97 fans who lost their lives as a result of the national disaster that occurred at Hillsborough on April 15th in 1989 have been involved in a three-decade campaign in pursuit of justice. The Real Truth Legacy Project was started in September 2021 to ensure that the real truth of Hillsborough is taught across all age groups to ensure that lies and smears about the disaster propagated by the media and state agencies will be eradicated forever. On 26 January 2022 Liverpool city councillors passed our motion to commemorate the Hillsborough disaster with a dedicated education programme and Hillsborough assembly in all schools governed by the local education authority. The motion was passed unopposed by the council with full cross-party support and this motion was then put through every region in Liverpool City Region. So the Real Truth Legacy Project is unanimously supported politically across Liverpool City Region. In the zip file you will find the following documents to support you in delivering an assembly to the pupils in your school. Our recommendation is that this is suitable for pupils from Year 5 upwards and it has been trialled with this age group in several primary schools. 1. An introduction to the project 2. A PDF assembly 3. Notes for teachers 4. Context and timeline 5. Sources and further information Colleagues from the LFC Foundation are willing to help schools with this and should be contacted by email: [email protected] or schools can email the [email protected] – landline contact is 0151 432 5675 With very best wishes, Ian Byrne |
